Family Education & Discipleship (FED)

New Covenant is strongly committed to follow the command of Jesus to “Make Disciples”. The life and ministry of Jesus is our model for making  disciples. We are embracing the concept of:    “Sunday + One” 
 To accomplish that purpose, we encourage our church to participate in a corporate worship service, and one other relationship based, discipleship activity or foundational discipleship teaching each week. 

Our F.E.D. classes are just one way to add your “+one”.  These classes are held here at New Covenant:   Sunday mornings @ 9am    &  Wednesday nights @ 7pm

F.E.D. classes run 9:00am to 9:45am Sunday Mornings, and from 7:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday nights. Classes are open to EVERYONE!

“FOLLOW”

This course explores in depth, the discipleship themes contained in Daniel McNaughton’s book “Learning to Follow Jesus”.  Using a video series, this class looks at the seven attributes of a disciple, and how we can grow in each area. Focus will be given to integrating the practices of a disciple into our everyday lives. Facilitated by Elder Peter Young, Elder Scott Bastian & Tricia Prieto

“OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY”

This course provides an overview of the entire Old Testament. Focus will be given to God’s work among his people and how the message of the Gospel  was being communicated before Jesus’ coming.  The goal of this course will be to give a student working knowledge of the Old Testament that allows for integration of God’s word into their everyday life. Facilitated by Elder Mike Baldwin.

“COACHING TO FOLLOW”

This course covers the skills used in spiritual coaching. Special attention will be given to skills like effective listening, powerful questions, personality types, and brining people to a decision. The goal of this course is to impart the skills necessary to personally coach someone else through the Learning to Follow Jesus (Follow) process. This class uses a video series from Daniel  McNaughton and will be facilitated by your pastoral staff.

“W.I.L.D” – Women Inspired to Love & Disciple

1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month!  Even though this FED opportunity meets on a different day, it still combines the teaching of 2 FED classes being offered. (“Follow” & “Coaching to Follow”)  You could call it the “BOGO” of FED classes!  And Ladies, we all know how much you love BOGO!  This night of worship & teaching also includes practical application during our 1-on1 discipleship time. You and another sister in Christ will be discipling each other using the book “Learning to Follow Jesus” by Daniel McNaughton.  To register or for more information contact Tricia Prieto at: 877-9882 ext:408.
