We believe when people encounter God their lives are changed. Exchange Youth Ministry exists to create opportunities for youth to encounter the awesome, life changing presence of God.
When we meet with God we have an opportunity to "exchange" our junk for His goodness. The junk we carry comes from many different sources, Friends, family, society, media, and even ourselves. It seems everyone wants to put their junk on us and we don't want their junk.
Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." (Mathew 11:28-30)
Through God's goodness we can make trades like our death for His life, our turmoil for His peace, our sin for His righteousness, our worthlessness for His value and our failure for His success.
And so, we seek to make this "exchange". We do this in many ways. Worship Services, God Encounter prayer, preaching, altar times, small groups, missions trips, fellowship, the performing arts.
We want God to change us and transform us and make us more like Him, so we present ourselves to Him as living sacrifices. We take our instruction from Romans 12 which starts… I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
We invite you to come with us as we seek to make the "exchange" and live lives that our pleasing and acceptable to our maker.
All teens 7th Grade to 12th Grade are welcome. Youth meets on FRIDAY NIGHTS at 7:30 p.m.
